For college students
Coach the game.
Teach the skills.
Paid, scheduled around your classes and trained before day one. There are no openings yet: join the coach list and we'll email you when coach interviews open for our 2027 pilot.
The role
What you'll do
Up to six sessions of 45 to 60 minutes. Two trained, screened college coaches will lead each one, with the program's own staff in the room. You'll lead all three parts, from a written playbook.
Play
The sport comes first: whatever the program already plays.
Track
Players log their numbers in their own stat tracker: makes, misses, reps and times.
Plan
15 to 20 minutes on money, AI or handling pressure, built from the players' own numbers: a budget, a deal, a prediction to check.
The basics
Pay, hours and training
At programs in South LA and Inglewood. We're choosing the first pilot site now.
Paid
Paid as FSL staff or through campus Work-Study, never as an independent contractor. The hourly pay will be posted with each opening.
Around your classes
Sessions of 45 to 60 minutes, once a week at each program, scheduled around your classes.
Trained before day one
If you're selected, you'll interview, then pass a California DOJ background check, complete child-abuse reporting training and learn the session playbook before you work with any kids.
Always with a partner
You'll always coach with a partner, with the program's own staff in the room.
Youth safety
The rules every session will follow
Screened adults
Before working with kids, every FSL coach and volunteer will pass a California DOJ background check and child-abuse reporting training.
Never alone
At least two screened adults at every session, with the program's own staff in the room, and no adult alone with a child out of sight of others.
No AI accounts
No child opens an AI account, and no child's name, face or personal information goes into any AI tool. Kids under 13 use AI only on FSL laptops with no internet connection, or watch a demo an adult runs.
Written permission
Written permission from a parent or guardian to take part, for AI activities and, separately, for any photo.
Skills, not therapy
Coaches will teach skills for handling pressure, not counsel. If a child needs more help, they'll bring in the program's own staff, and anyone can call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Nothing to sell
We never send kids to any company, and we take no referral money.
What you take with you
Real experience
Real coaching and teaching experience, plus hands-on work with data and AI tools. Have Federal Work-Study? Say so on the form. Your campus decides whether coaching can be paid through it.
